The Manhattan Center offers a wide range of social work programs including M.S.W. pathways, as well as a B.S.W. course of study wherein prior work/life experience may be applied to degree credits. Classes are offered weekday evenings and Saturdays to accommodate working students.
The Adelphi University Manhattan Center offers our B.S.W. and M.S.W. programs, and is located in an historic district that is home to artists, galleries, avant-garde dance companies, and performance artists. The area is now famous for both retail shopping and its proximity to downtown Manhattan, the financial capital of the world. Adelphi’s Manhattan Center is a short walk from the A, C, E and 1 trains (Canal St. stations), is near several parking garages, and is one block from the Holland Tunnel.
Classes meet on weekday evenings and Saturdays in order to accommodate working students. Field placements are available throughout NYC’s five boroughs as well as New Jersey, Westchester County and southern Connecticut.
Convenient and cosmopolitan, the Manhattan Center provides the highest quality social work education with a wide range of on-site ancillary services, including financial aid counseling, tutoring, a library and computer lab, and student counseling services. The Center also hosts a student-run Social Action Group with many advocacy and community service activities throughout the year.
